2. Purpose of data processing

Your personal data (name, address, contact information) and your horse’s information will be processed solely for the purposes of providing veterinary care, billing, and correspondence.

3. Legal basis

Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. b DSGVO (Vertragserfüllung) sowie Art. 6 Abs. 1 lit. c DSGVO (gesetzliche Aufbewahrungspflichten, 10 Jahre gemäß § 10 TÄHAV).

4. Disclosure of Data

Your data will only be shared with third parties where necessary for treatment purposes (e.g. laboratory, specialist clinic) or where required by law.

5. Retention Period

Your data will be retained for the statutory period of 10 years and securely deleted thereafter.

6. Online Registration Form (Jotform)

The new client registration form is provided via Jotform (JotForm Inc., San Francisco, USA). Data processing is carried out on the basis of a data processing agreement in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR. For more information, please visit www.jotform.com/privacy.

7. Communication via WhatsApp

Equi-CaRe uses WhatsApp (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.) to communicate with clients, including the transmission of findings, reports, and general information. WhatsApp processes data on servers outside the EU. Use of this channel is subject to your explicit consent in accordance with Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You may withdraw this consent at any time, following which communication will be switched to an alternative channel. Please note: as data is processed outside the EU, WhatsApp cannot guarantee the same level of data protection as within the EU. We recommend not transmitting highly sensitive medical data via WhatsApp.

Under Art. 15–21 GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access your stored data (Art. 15)
  • Rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16)
  • Erasure of your data (Art. 17)
  • Restriction of processing (Art. 18)
